And in case you didn't believe me about San Francisco never getting warm, this is a "severe weather alert" from The Weather Channel website, issued today:
Issued by The National Weather Service
San Francisco/Monterey, CA
1:25 pm PDT, Fri., Sep. 18, 2009
EXCESSIVE HEAT OUTLOOK FOR THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA AND MONTEREY BAY AREA FOR SUNDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY.
A STRONG RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE IS EXPECTED TO BUILD OVER THE WEST COAST STARTING SUNDAY AND LEAD TO ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES FOR MUCH OF THE WEEK AHEAD ACROSS CALIFORNIA. RECORD OR NEAR RECORD BREAKING HEAT WILL BE POSSIBLE AS EARLY AS SUNDAY AND PERSIST INTO MID WEEK.
ON SUNDAY HIGHS ARE EXPECTED FROM THE 70S TO THE 80S AT COASTAL LOCATIONS. OVERNIGHT TEMPERATURES DURING THIS TIME WILL BE WARM WITH LOWS IN THE 60S TO LOWER 70S.PERSONS WHO ARE SENSITIVE TO HEAT SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR THE UPCOMING HEATWAVE. ANYONE EXPECTED TO BE OUTDOORS FOR EXTENDED PERIODS FROM SUNDAY AND INTO NEXT WEEK SHOULD PLAN ACCORDINGLY BY BRINGING PLENTY OF EXTRA WATER... WEARING SUNSCREEN AND LIGHT COLORED CLOTHES... AND AVOIDING LONG EXPOSURE TO THE SUN.
this is hilarious.
