Let's face it, Dannon and I are very poor and are living in the 2nd most expensive city in america. That means we have to take the free fun whenever we can get it. Luckily, this weekend there were several free fun things!
First, we went to a free concert of The Dodos at Amoeba Records on Haight Street. They're a super fun local band that consists of a singer/guitarist and two drummers. Result? Crazy fun rhythms! Here's a little sample:
We also had some fun playing football in the park right in front of Danielle Steel's house, and made an entire event out of cooking and baking. I'm mostly a cereal girl, but Dannon is a great chef, so he made a squash-cauliflower dinner for me and I baked an apple crisp for him.
Baking is one of the things that really fills my well. Unfortunately I never do it anymore because I have a teeny kitchen with no counter space. But one day I'll have a great big kitchen and I'll bake to my heart's content! Moral of the story? Be greatful for every inch of your kitchen counter. Oh, and you can still have fun even when you're poor!
what's david cross's book, "the man inside me"? jk. this looks like such a fun weekend! i'm liking that sample of the dodos. i wish i lived there. sigh. i hope that someday your big kitchen is next door to my big kitchen. that would be great.
