Dannon and I usually take the 5, which is the most horrible highway - complete with a feed lot {aka - cow death facility}, tons of semi trucks, and only 2 lanes. It takes forever, smells bad, and is a long, boring stretch of valley. So for our drive home Sunday after the 4th, we decided we would avoid the heavy traffic on the 5 and try out the 101.
It was Wonderful! The scenery was beautiful with rolling hills, surf towns, and periodic views of the ocean. And there were vegetable and fruit stands from local farms all along the way. We stopped at two of them.

The second was a blueberry farm where they gave you a bucket and you picked your own blueberries in a field. We had SO much fun!
Our bucket was overflowing and we now have a ton of blueberries. So as soon as I got home I made Blueberry Muffins!
