it's been a long, busy week.
today i am just focusing on breathing...
breathing out all the stress and any negative energy within,
breathing in all of the peace and magic that exists in the world.

a large part of this breathing process involves cultivating a healthy dose of gratitude.
this week i am thanking my lucky stars for:

- silly late night movies.
- accomplishing a whole bunch of stuff on my to-do list.
- sweet memories, both from the past and the ones i'm making now.
- deep conversations, even those that require great courage.
- the flowers that dannon bought me.
- homemade biscuits.
- shopping for vinyl.
- new discoveries.
- gelato.
- hiking with jo.
- relaxation.
- hearty laughter.
- cute kitties.

what are you thankful for this week?

  1. I'm ALWAYS thankful for cute kitties ;) Have a great week, Kim!

    Belly B :)

  2. I am thankful that I found you again, Kim!! I have enjoyed reading your blog and learning all about you in your adult life!! In my own life, I am thankful for my dog, who give me unconditional love, my husband who is my best friend, and for my family who I love dearly and make me feel like I really belong some place whenever I am with them. Hope you have a great weekend!!!

  3. I love that photo and those beautiful shades of blue and green. And I love your list!

This week I'm grateful for family, a busy photography schedule, Nutella, and good books.

  4. I'm so thankful that the weekend is near and I have made it through this work week. It's been a draining week for me, mentally.

    Love your list :).

    Hope you're weekend is beautiful!

  5. I'm kind of just focusing on breathing myself. Happy weekend lady.

  6. Love that your hubby got you flowers during this stressful week. I hope it gets better!

I am grateful for so much in my life. I look at it and think "Everything is just so good." Very blessed indeed.

  7. I always enjoy your lists. It's the simple things, right?! =)

Thankful for a 3 day weekend ahead!!! =) relaxing, hanging out with family, and having fun!

  8. Flowers, memories, and deep conversations are definitely worth being grateful for. I wish you could rub a little of that courage off on me... There are some friendships that probably need repair in my life. oh, and do you have a recipe for the homemade biscuits? I'm all ears. :)

I also realized I forgot to mention earlier this week, but no I did not make my blog background. I have some HTML experience but not enough to make a template. I'd love to learn though!

  9. AND... I've been to California. By which I mean I drove through it for about fifteen minutes once to say I've been there but I haven't really been there. Noah is actually flying out to Los Angeles in September to see his older brother who lives there. That's probably where my dream cropped up from and my mind subconsciously relates CA to you. :) I wish I was going with him because then there might be a slim chance of actually meeting you in real life. Didn't you say at one point that you used to come out this way? Mt Jackson or something?

  10. i always look forward to your list on fridys. I am grateful for relaxation, friends, laughter and enough. Have a great weekend.

  11. im thankful for my friends, my family, going to hear beautiful music, my cousins baby babble, relaxation, singing and sunshine xxx

  12. I always love your Friday lists :) Hope you have a lovely weekend, Kim!

I'm thankful that most of my friends were able to leave their apartments/houses and have relatively little/no damage though I'm sad for the few who lost everything. I'm thankful that my belly is finally (almost) back to normal and I can start reintroducing foods (and wine!) again. Thankful for sunny Fridays and happy hours on boats in the city :)

  13. I love your gratitude posts. This week I'm thankful for *best friends coming home *bird seed bread *time spent with family

  14. That is a wonderful gratitude list! Mine includes: coffee, wine, friends, and best of all . . . my BFF coming to visit from Pittsburgh this Saturday! We haven't seen each other in over a year so I absolutely cannot wait to have her for a long weekend. We've been attached at the hip since we were 14. :)

    Happy long weekend, Kim! xoxox

  15. The little joys in life like kitties and laughter really are priceless :-) Have a wonderful weekend!

  16. Sunny days after gloomy ones (and of course vice versa), getting manicures just because, and finally feeling better!

  17. looks like you have your priorities straight, love your list :) what kind of flowers did he get you?

  18. AMEN to that list x

  19. That photo is STUNNING.
Yesyesyes - hearty laughter is always something to be thankful for! This week, I'm thankful for time well spent with dear friends and family, and I'm thankful for homemade broccoli soup. Mmm!

  20. i love your positive attitude and how contagious it is... I'm thankful that we've been having a lot of rain because we really needed it, great food and great friends!

  21. I got to breathe in and out with you! :) I agree this is such a hectic week.

I'm thankful for my birthday. Another year to start and create new things!

  22. I'm thankful that I got so much done this weekend, even if it does feel like I have a ton left to do. Hope you're having an enjoyable weekend!

  23. Hi Kim, hope you had a relaxing weekend that allowed you to recover from your stressful week. As for me, this week i'm thankful for successfully completing a big project at work and for fun movie nights :)

  24. I love your list, Kim! Read it on Friday but somehow didn't managed to leave you a comment. Oops!

Hope you had a great weekend, full of more happy things to be grateful for.

I'm grateful for one last day of summer vacation, and for the lovely fall that lies ahead.

And now, I really must get to bed. Time to start practicing for that 6 a.m. wake-up!

  25. I think it's fantastic that you are thinking of the happy things and just breathing.

I'm thankful for lovely weather, good work mates, sweet nephews, unexpected mail :)

  26. I love how positive you are!!! I am thankful for my wonderful family and friends :)
