okay, gang, here it is. this week i've been sending out applications left and right, up and down, around and over - basically to every place i can find within a fairly sane driving distance. i'm also heading to a networking meeting for LA therapists on saturday, where i will be assisting with the presentation and handing out name tags to all the guests. that means, i will meet every single therapist who attends the event {a couple hundred probably}, and they will all get to see my smiling face throughout the morning. woo-hoo! i know a lot of interns who landed therapy jobs simply from meeting a supervisor at these networking meetings. so with that in mind, i would really appreciate all your good vibes, thoughts, prayers, anything you can spare saturday morning on my behalf. i have high hopes that some amazing supervisor will meet me and desperately want me to come work for her/him. i'm still applying all over the place, but emotionally, all my eggs are pretty much in this basket. ...and being that it's almost easter, i'm hoping the universe is appreciating the sentiment.
in the meantime, i'm not above working any of these jobs:
while this is clearly an ad campaign intent on inspiring people not to settle for a horrible, soul-sucking job, i'll totally take 'em! {by the way, the signs say "life's too short for the wrong job." you can read more about the ad campaign here.}
i also really wish los angeles would take a tip from portland and adopt this new employment strategy:
i'd be ____ at completing ____ people's sent__es!
I will be sending you happy vibes on Saturday.
ReplyDeleteFunny add campaign, you can't help but smile:)
Hang in there. I hope Sat yields lots of possibilities for you. Keep thinking positive and hold your head high. I know the perfect opportunity will find you soon.

ReplyDeletewhen i am at my wits end with my job i always shout, "I'LL JUST GO GET A JOB AT RITE-AID!" i kind of think that would be one of the worst jobs on earth so i hope it never happens! :)
Seriously, ignore my awful language but seriously, it f-ing sucks trying to find a job in LA! I actually think it's super awesome that you live here, because while I think I knew already, I forgot! GOOD LUCK WITH EVERYTHING! :D
ReplyDeleteI'm in the same boat as you! Seriously! I'm working on it though, just like you! Feel free to vent to me anytime! :)

Haha... oh gosh, that campaign! Wow, I really hope this event will be ah-may-zing and lands you a fabulous, perfect-for-you job! You deserve it and it's about time you get this huge worry off of your shoulders!
ReplyDeleteBut, about your title... when you get a job, will there be no more 'Fill Your Well'?
i hope you get one that is fulfilling and challenging where you can contribute and learn while being employed by a great boss at a company that pays well.
ReplyDeleteall this and so much more!!

I'll be thinking of you big time this weekend! I know you'll rock n' roll your sweet self into landing something great.

ReplyDeletethe lady in the vending machine...HA!!! now that is funny! and yes very crappy. no you couldn't settle for that. i wouldn't let you.
ReplyDeleteNetworking is definitely the best way to find new opportunities. The frustrating part about it is that you just never know when one of those opportunities will find you.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure that putting your smiling face and great attitude out there is going to bring you an awesome job! Just think of it this way - the universe just wants you to have the BEST, so it's taking its sweet ass time finding you something :)
