after yesterday's post {and the current frustrations of life}, i really needed to make this gratitude list. it seems it's not just me either. a lot of you have mentioned this week that you're going through a rough time. what is it about life right now that has put all of us in these hardships? well, at least we have each other right? your kind, encouraging words are constantly keeping me going, and i would like to say "right back atcha everyone!"
to anyone going through a hard time, know that i am rooting for you, and i believe in you, in all of us! now let's all channel our inner kitten-on-a-rope and hang in there!
this week i'm thankful for:
* friends!
* a clean house.
* one more month with a roof over my head.
* tofutti cuties {non-dairy ice cream sandwiches}.
* super sunny, hot weather which has invited all my summer dresses out to play.
* making beautiful music with this art creation {you can too, it's so easy & fun}.
* the amazing lasagna dinner our vagabond friend made for us - yum!
* ice cream outings to scoops.
* the new season of united states of tara.
* a coffee date with brandi.
* more daffodils from the mister!
* giving in to some terrible-for-you indulgences.
* diet coke {speaking of indulgences...}.
* getting a sweet letter in the mail from erin {erin - i hope your recovery is going well!}.

* fun playlists! here are some of the tunes which have been making me happy this week:
how are things in your life?
do you need to combat hard times with thankfulness?
i would love to hear all about it!
Those Laura George illustrations are hilarious, and perfect!!
ReplyDeleteGreat list, by the way!
Now I'm craving Tofutti Cuties! hahaha!
xox
Love the illustrations - the first one rock. Love your post as usual, love that you teach us to be thankful even though life sometimes throws us a curveball. So for that I'm thankful Kim. have a stunning sunshiney weekend.

I love Tofutti Cuties! I sure do miss them here, though. I'm thankful for YOU and your awesome comment that you left for me yesterday. : ) For this beautiful weather, for walks, for still having the determination to write out my goals and stick to them. Have a lovely weekend, my friend!
ReplyDeletehey hey hey Kim !!!! What have I missed here?? I hope everything is fine over there !!
ReplyDeleteYou are on the right track Kim, just don't give up on finding employment. No matter how hard life is, you just have to look for the good.
You have a great weekend Kim. Enjoy and have fun with your mister D !!! *hugs*
I love all those posters! I really should have written an ode to coffee and diet coke this week. It was a no sleep, lots of caffeine few days for me. I'm hoping this wee brings lots of rest. Hope you have a great weekend!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm curious about the ice toffuti ice cream! Will have to look around for it. Gratitude does build resilience, they say. I find it hard to take heart when life is disappointing but being happy for the things that are going right in my life and in my friends' life lessen the fire, so to speak. Don't give up hope!
ReplyDeleteYou really always have the most incredible gratitude lists, Kim. I don't know how you do it, but that's something we can chat about today, yes? I can't wait to see you!
ReplyDeletethank you for reminding me to be grateful even when times are tough. here's to hoping the weekend brings sunshine to us all, inside and out.
ReplyDeleteI feel like I always have something not great on in my life, it's good to be thankful for the good things.
ReplyDeletewhat a wonderful gratitude list! definitely keep your spirits up about the job search...those things take a lot of time these days, but eventually you'll end up right where you need to be :) happy weekend, kim!
ReplyDeleteBig virtual hug to you, Kim! I definitely combat my tough times with gratitude...I remember how lucky I am in so many ways. That really helps me steer clear of dwelling on the negative. Ah, I hope we can get together soon and commiserate :) Till then, have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, perfect timing :) Just wrote a draft post last night inspired by, of all things, Pollyanna! "There's something to be glad about in every situation."
ReplyDeleteI'm under a lot of school stress right now, but having a countdown and seeing the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel makes it all seem like not such a big deal :)
I'm sorry things have been so stressful for you lately! Just remember: this too shall pass!

sorry to hear that. tommorrow is a new day! huge hugs to you
ReplyDeletere the diet coke comment- I hear ya. I'm willing to partake in certain aspartamey poison even if it kills me. Stay tuned for an upcoming post from me about living guilt free as a diet soda lover haha!

I hope things start looking up for you soon (off now to read back so I'm updated on it all) but in the meantime:
ReplyDelete*HUGS*
PS: I love that the mister brings you daffodils. What a sweet man? Does he have a brother? Preferably in the New York area? Hey, a girl can ask, right?? :p
I am thankful I get to see Inspector Climate today! And my parents are going to be here soon! And it's another sunny day in Australia (although I think it's supposed to rain this afternoon) - I like rain, so I am thankful for that too.
ReplyDeleteI was having a really emotionally exhausting week and now it's better, so I'm grateful for that. Also for fresh flowers in every room of my house and girl scout cookies. Thinking of you! xoxo.
