tea time

i discovered an amazing new site last month on lillian's gorgeous blog, unstitched.
the site is called your tea time {created by the amazing sanctuary t tea shop}, and it showcases beautiful scenes of my favorite drink, tea.  what's better is the photos have been submitted by people from all over the world, and you can submit yours too!

i don't know about you, but i am a huge lover of tea {i'm even drinking some as i type this!}.  yes, there is the obvious benefit of gaining that extra boost of energy in the morning, but my true love of tea is based in the ritual.  there's just something so soothing and calming about taking the time to slowly sip tea.  i also love the thought of enjoying something straight from the earth, which was grown and harvested by farmers from the other side of the world.  it's a romantic notion to think about all the cultures who share tea in social/spiritual rituals, and that i can take part in those experiences from my own living room.  sometimes i think up stories about who may have been taking care of my tea before it was boxed up and shipped across the ocean to me.  whoever they are, we are now connected in a special way.  in that same sense, we are all connected in this world, and that's just beautiful!

so go enjoy a cup of tea, peruse the gorgeous photos, and please let me know if you submit one of your own.

here's wishing you a very lovely weekend.

  3. I love tea too! I was drinking some delicious sweet tea today while studying for an exam with Noah. My only problem now is I get tea gifted to me so often (birthdays and Christmas) that I have enough to last me for probably a year! It's takin up a fourth of my pantry shelf. :)

Can't wait to go check out this site and I will surely be submitting some photos. Thanks for a cute new site to check out.

I also love the connection you mentioned that we all have with tea.. not to mention just about ever piece of food we eat!

P.S. What you wrote over on my blog completely makes sense! :) I'll try to respond to your comment on there as well, but I just wanted to let you know I appreciate what you wrote and get it completely.

  15. I'm an 11-year coffee drinker who needs to savor her moments more. Thanks for this post..it's a very good reminder :)

I'm glad you're enjoying your weekend and your tea. When you savor it, you're partaking in an age-old ritual of meditation and revitalization. Not to mention, when enjoyed with friends, tea becomes that perfect social drink for good conversations.

    Have a wonderful Sunday!

  19. That's it. I'm making tea a ritual. I need little ceremonies of quiet in my life right now, little places of reflection. I'm devouring these photos. They'll be my scones today.
