we got a letter from my little niece this week. in it was the wedding gift she had made
for us - a piece of paper with two original works of art
featuring me, the mister, the rubber chicken i threw at our wedding,...
... and a t-rex, of course!
we got some pretty awesome wedding gifts, but i got to say, this is probably my favorite!
****
also, here are a few other wonderful things for which i'm thankful this week
{because they happened after i wrote yesterday's post}:
* getting a phone call asking if i had time for a phone interview
{finger's crossed i land an in-person interview next}
* the gorgeous long stem irises the mister brought home.
* the amazingly delicious apple turnovers the mister made.
* seeing my best friend's parents who are visiting
{and all the memories that flooded back from my growing up years}.
* the fabulous people-watching at the coffee shop where i wrote yesterday
{great inspiration for what i was writing}.
* the warm, sunshiny weather!!
i hope everyone is having a delightful weekend!

ReplyDeleteI believe Taylor just may be an artist when she grows up. The pictures have a great amount of detail for someone her age. Love her wedding gift to the both of you.
ReplyDeleteWish I could have had one of Dannon's apple turnovers! Everything he makes is good.
Wow, amazing works of art :) Here everything is good: starting to get inspired in the middle of the night, as usual. Have a nice weekend!
ReplyDeleteThese are great! I have an entire box filled with pictures and notes from my students. It's one of my most prized possessions. Hope you are having a splendid weekend, my dear!

You and the hubs look cute, but that T-Rex is the best. Ever. Congrats on the phone interview. I've got my fingers crossed you get lots more of those and a slew of in-person interviews as well.
ReplyDeleteI was reading this post when Dylan came along and said, "Hey! That's a really good T-Rex..." High praise from my dino-lovin' boy!
ReplyDeleteI love stuff like that. My fridge is covered with it!
Happy weekend full of wonderful things!
Good luck with the interview!!!
ReplyDeletePS That is one amazing wedding gift.
I love that you write down what you are thankful for... What a pleasant reminder to be present where you are RIGHT NOW instead of pulling away towards something else.
ReplyDeleteand for you... I AM THANKFUL!

ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your comment on my last post, I feel honored that you want to do a good deeds post on the story, of course you can! I would love any suggestions & tips from other people with more experience on the subject.
"with the purchase of each cookie a child can learn to read and write"---> I love that line and will use it when introducing the idea to the donators, you rock!
ha that is amazing
ReplyDeleteAww, that is adorably cute!! And good luck with the interview, I'm sure you'll get an in-person one, sounds promising!!! xoxo
ReplyDeleteOooh what an adorable niece you have! Fingers crossed for your interview and I hope you had a grand weekend :)

ReplyDeleteHi! Your niece's drawings are too cute! Plus I found out that you threw a chicken at your wedding which, again, is way too cute also.

ReplyDeleteWhat an AWESOME wedding gift! I am always trying to get my brothers' kids to send me works of art! but so far I haven't really gotten anything yet.
ReplyDeleteSo cute.
so cute!!!!!!
ReplyDeletei love when dave's nieces draw me pictures. they're always so random yet so right on. one niece drew a picture of me and my bulldog omar. not dave, not my other bulldog bodie...just me. and omar. lol. too funny.
anywho...i agree. best wedding gift ever.
Taylor says, "Thank you for liking your wedding present, I love you." She got the cutest sheepish grin when she saw the picture (she drew for the two of you) on your blog. When she heard me read that it is probably your favorite wedding present, she made the "home alone face"! You know, the one with her eyes wide open, her hands on her cheeks, and her jaw dropped so far you would think she had dislocated it! She is very animated, and both she and her little sister keep us all laughing with their silliness! So glad you loved it....I knew you would!
ReplyDeleteAwwwwwww!!!! What an adorable gift :) Definitely something to cherish always.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck with the job, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!
Wow really nice post and What an awesome wedding gift!!! i like it. keep it up..
