the edison!

last thursday we finally got over to the edison, an amazing lounge/restaurant/bar in downtown los angeles.  we've been wanting to go there for months.  the mister attended a lecture and met the designer of the edison, so the design inspiration was a pretty big draw {the mister is an interior architect/designer}.  plus, we're huge fans of anything in the steampunk or prohibition genre.  and wow! the edison did not disappoint.  i'm pretty much ready to move in
and never leave.

i wish we could have gotten some better shots because it's just gorgeous and magical inside! but you know, it's also pretty dark.  if you're ever in the area, make sure you go experience the awesomeness!

the rest of our weekend was spent relaxing, watching movies {i introduced the mister to dr. horrible's sing-a-long blog, one of my favorites - exactly the kind of film i would love to be in!}, taking walks, watching saturday night live with dana carvey {so many hilarious throw backs to the good old days of snl}, and of course, a super bowl party.  the packers aren't my absolute number one team, but i am originally from wisconsin, so i was pretty psyched they won.  yippee!!

i'm now working on a super busy week, full of fun projects - a set design job, helping with a music video, writing a script, and planning a trip to san francisco next week.  all of this just popped up over the span of two days by the way.
life is sort of great with surprises like that, isn't it?

i hope you're all having a fantastic week so far!

  1. Looks amazing! I'm not in a big enough town (Much less city) to have lots of different restaurants to go to so I'll just keep living vicariously through you.

I love Dr. Horrible's sing-a-long-blog. I think it's one of my roommates favorite movies. :)

Glad to see the week is going well!

  13. That place looks like so much fun! See...why can't Utah have great places like this?? boooo

The edison reminds me of a bar in Denver we went to a couple years ago. I still talk about it to this day.

I will have to remember this sweet spot if we are ever in LA.
