everything will be okay

thanks everyone for your support! i go back and forth between frantically searching for a new venue and stomping my feet veruca salt style.

it's so frustrating when we did everything right in order to secure our venue and it still didn't help anything. yes we could seek legal action, and we still may depending on what happens, but with our wedding only 5 weeks away the reality is legal action won't help us get our venue back in time. so we're still swimming in the stress of finding something else. we're currently looking at new vacation rentals and nothing has happened yet, but i know everything will be okay.

today i did some craft store shopping for diy wedding decoration supplies. now i have all this pretty fabric to make pillows for our picnic, flags for garlands, hanging fabric frames, and general decoration stuff. when i was sewing and planning my designs it hit me that even if i have to have my wedding in the median of the freeway, i'm still getting to make the promise to spend the rest of my life with my best friend. after that everything started feeling much better.

love is a wonderful cure for all the terrible things that go wrong in the world.

sending you all lots of love for your world!
xoxo

  1. It is going to work out wonderfully no matter what! The important thing is that you found a man you love that loves you back, so you're going to be very happy together for the rest of your lives. Twenty years from now, you probably won't even remember where you got married, so no need to stress about it now (although you're totally justified in doing so). I really admire your ability to stay positive in light of all of these stresses, proof you can get through anything and will have great things coming your way!

  2. Hey. Kim. Don't worry. Take a chill pill. And if you have none left, I can sell you some.

  3. Aw girl, I missed your post about your wedding site not working out :(

I can tell by how you wrote this that you already know everything happens for a reason, devine order and harmony... and all of that :)

It sucks because you are working your booty off finding a new place, but what's meant to be will be. Just keep making those calls, sending those e-mails, it will be perfect no matter where you end up getting hitched :)

  4. I found from planning my own wedding that in the end as long as you get to say "I Do" that's all that matters. I mean, hell, my mom and I were in a car accident the day before my wedding and it still went on....

Still, I can't believe your venue would do something like that. That's pretty horrible.

  7. I hate it for you...it always seems that weddings never come off without a hitch...well, at least you will be hitched (i know, dumb groaner of a joke, but i couldnt resist) I would be sooooo stomping mad! I would be all up in their venue making a scene about their lack of professionalism, and how I plan to sue for pain and suffering on top of breach of contract! If I were there....you would have to hold me back! But, you are strong, determined, and resourceful. I know you will find something....and maybe it will be even better! I so hope it works out! love to you both!

  8. You've remembered the most important thing of wedding planning: don't stress because what matters at the end of the day is YOU ARE GETTING MARRIED. Whether things go as planned as far as the ceremony/party portion hardly matters as long as you end up with the man/woman of yours dreams.

  9. I'm so sorry that a lot of frustration was thrown your way but I'm glad you're looking at it in a positive light now. That's takes a big person to do. I hope everything works out for the best but I'm sorry that it may be frustrating in the meantime. At least you have a great guy to go through it all with right?
