i think we decided on our new neighborhood!
drum roll please - - silverlake!!
drum roll please - - silverlake!!
yup, it was a tough toss up between venice and silverlake. they both have so much going for them - art, hipsters, delicious coffee shops {read: intelligentsia}, live music, thrift stores, and really great energy.
but when we really thought long and hard, there seems to be more variety in silverlake. venice is sort of isolated from the rest of the city. the options in venice are the beach, abbot kinney blvd., and maybe santa monica {which is just more beach}. but in silverlake there's sunset junction, echo park, downtown, hollywood, los feliz, and griffith park. not to mention we'll be very close to one of my best friends of all time {huge selling point}.
so, here we come silverlake!
now is that really exciting but agonizing time when we're so close to start looking for apartments, but still a little too early.
gah!
but in a couple weeks i'll give my 30 days notice and then it will finally really be happening.
three cheers for big changes!

ReplyDeletewooo hooo!!! I know I comment this all the time lol, but I love your blog and being able to live vicariously through you in Cali... you make and do the coolest things :)
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to hear more about the apt hunt and silver lake (I am in NC so I don't know about it at all)
Congratulations! That's exciting news! :).
ReplyDeleteYay, congratulations on your decision!
ReplyDeleteThat's so exciting! Love the blog :) I'm following ♥
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, Silver Lake is a very cool name for an area in which to live. Secondly, it sounds perfect for you and Dannon. And finally, I'm so excited for you and can't wait to hear all about the apartment hunt and the big move to a new city. Three cheers indeed!
ReplyDeleteAlmost the weekend, too... Hurrah for that!
Yay, that's so exciting! I love your scooter color selections as well, can't wait to see what you end up with! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited for you! That's really amazing. My best friend's boyfriend lives in Santa Monica, and she'll be visiting for a week and a half in July. :) Every time I read a post of yours, it makes me want to move to California just a little bit more. Can't wait to hear all about apartment hunting!
ReplyDeletehow exciting!! i've never been to silverlake but it sounds like the perfect mix and a great place to live.
ReplyDeleteI had to go into LA two days ago and have to say there are some fun parts of the city...just not the traffic between LA and LL. Good thing you'll be IN the city and not having to drive to it. That is a definite bonus.
ReplyDeletesooo exciting! congrats! and god luck with the apartment hunting when the time comes!
ReplyDeletedont really know much about the area.. obviously!
ReplyDeleteBut it sounds great! And i cant wait to hear about your new place :)
wowie!! cha-cha-cha-cha-changes!!! (sang in my best bowie voice, obviously!) so exciting, kim! apartment hunting can be stressful... but at least you have narrowed it down to a certain area! will you use a service or just craigslist it up?
ReplyDelete(also, my word verification is toottee. just thought i'd let you know!)
so i've been having to hop all over the place and correct my comments from last night - my little brother watched our dog, signed into blogger on my computer, and never signed out. and then i wandered all over commenting on all my favorite places as him! whoops - so the 'andrew manion' comment is from me :)
ReplyDeleteSo exciting! This is really awesome!
ReplyDeletecongrats! that's exciting for you. i don't think i could ever move from the SF bay. i love it too much here...well unless i'm moving to hawaii. then it would be all good. haha.
