Memorial Day Adventures!

Over the long weekend, Dannon and I took a little trip to see my dad and stepmom's new home in Idaho Falls, ID. We could not believe how similar to Napoleon Dynamite it was! There were llama farms all over the state, cheesy tots offered at restaurants, and people wearing bad 80's t-shirts, just like this:

Our first Idaho experience was stopping at a gas station {which was also a Safe Baby Drop!}. Dannon loved this shot with me, Little Miss San Francisco, and that lady to the left in her Coon Skin Cap, digging for ice cream.

There were also several Midget Houses {as Darla accurately named them} in Idaho Falls, where people built basements, ran out of money, and just got comfortable.

Idaho was actually really beautiful, with amazing views of massive mountains and fields of volcanic rock. Our main weekend event was camping and exploring in the River of No Return Wilderness.

We found an old dredge, active mining claims {for gold}, real live cowboys rangling cattle, and an old ghost town.
We also found a couple hot springs. The orange-ish water on the right is actually from the spring coming out of the rocks and flowing into the river. It was boiling water and too hot to touch. There was only one teeny spot where the spring and river mixed that was the perfect temperature {where Darla is standing}.
Our favorite part was jeeping deep into the mountains.

Some of the snow drifts were 9-10 feet high!
We stopped a couple times and had little snowball fights.

Here's me resting after a long hard snowball battle. ...Or maybe I'm sitting for a jeep photo shoot?
We had a great time visiting Idaho! Thanks Dad, Darla, and Olga {the dog}!

What a Weekend!

This past weekend was full of so many exciting events!

In addition to Bay to Breakers, we also spent an afternoon with Larry as he got a brand new tattoo! Here's the first stage. In a few weeks he'll go back to have color added. I can't wait to get a tattoo of my very own!
Then on Sunday evening, Dannon and I went over to the Fox Theatre in Oakland for a Ben Folds concert!
It was one of the best concert experiences I've ever had. He absolutely rocked that piano. He played it so hard he broke a string!!! On his PIANO!!! Then during the encore his roady came out playing the Keytar. Oh, and his opening act was an a capella choir from Sacramento which he personally introduced. Seriously, Ben Folds rocks and has such great usage of swear words. If you get that chance, go see Ben Folds!

Here's a hilarious little taste:

Bay To Breakers!

This Sunday was the best holiday ever - the annual Bay to Breakers "race." Okay, so there are a lot of people who actually run this race, but mostly it's just an awesome excuse to dress in crazy costumes and roam through the city in a giant moving party. It's the one day a year when you can walk into pretty much anyone's house to use the bathroom, you can dance in the street to live garage bands, and everyone is your friend.

Dannon, Larry and I went as The Beastie Boys from the Sabotage music video. The best part was when the three of us went and stood next to a group of three real cops. We all looked very serious, of course. The cops actually knew exactly who we were and loved us!
There were lots of flying pigs ("Swine Flu"), Octomoms, pirates, naked people, Reno 911 cops, "Pink Slips," superheros, robots, crayons, etc.

There were also some floats like this luau float,

And a fireman float that was cooling down the crowd with water guns {it was crazy hot!}

You can go here to see some official pics of both the runners and the crazy costumes!

Seward Street Slides!

This past weekend we had some fun adventures for Dannon's birthday, including an Improv show, Mitchell's Ice Cream, and San Francisco's best hidden gem - the Seward Street Slides!

They're just a couple of cement slides built into the side of a steep hill, tucked in between houses on a teeny street.

The slides are actually pretty steep. With a little cardboard you can get going pretty fast!

Just make sure you keep your hands and feet inside the cardboard at all times.

Kristin and I are such hard core sliders.

Then some nice strangers let Dannon and Larry use their wax paper. Boy did they really fly! Take a look.

It was SUCH a fun weekend! If you are anywhere near San Francisco you should definitely check out the slides!

Domo Arigato!

This weekend Dannon came over and we had a very special 2 year anniversary date. First Dannon cooked an amazing and delicious gourmet dinner.

Then we moved right into making some robot costumes.

And of course once we made the robot costumes we had to dance to 80's music.

Which pretty much sums up our entire relationship. I'm so GLAD I have someone who loves to make robot costumes and dance around with me for no reason whatsoever!
