the {real} ring!

last friday we finally got to pick up my engagement ring! woo-hoo!!! all weekend i've been very distracted by it. i'll be reaching for the natural cheetos at the grocery store and suddenly, "ooo! shiny!" or i'll be drinking coffee and i'll suddenly notice how beautiful my ring is while holding a coffee cup.

the reason it took so long to make was that dannon designed it himself, and then had it made. it's so beautiful and has a really special meaning behind it.

the ring was inspired by another ring that dannon bought years ago when he was a young college kid living in spain. he decided that he would buy that ring and save it for the right girl. 3 years ago he gave the ring to me. it was so romantic that he had saved something through all those years and decided i was the girl who got to wear it. and what's even more magical is that it fit! i have super teeny tiny fingers, smaller than anyone else i know {my engagement ring is a size 3.5, and even that is a bit loose}.
i wore that ring every day until it eventually broke. so it's really special that i have an even more important ring in the same spirit.

I used to wake up at night when I was first engaged, just to take a little peek at my sparkly ring...

  4. i love your ring! i love the band, that is so special he designed it and what an adorable story about the ring from Spain, i can't believe it fit! i'm loving all these wedding posts!!!! :)

ps: as for my hair, i use 'be curly' by aveda ...let it air dry and sleep on it so it's not frizzy. i only wash my hair a few times a week too... (shh!) so the curls flatten out more.

  14. that is so sweet! sometimes the only thing that the engagement ring seems to be symbolic of these days is the boys income, but this is so perfect - a truly symbolic gesture of your love and commitment to each other! all the best with your wedding planning!
