things i wish would happen but probably won't...

...probably.
but a girl can dream can't she? here we go.

* saved by the bell: the middle-aged years.

* scientists will suddenly discover great healing powers from chai lattes, thereby recommending we should each drink about 12 of them every day... unless you don't like chai lattes, in which case i hope your doctor recommends your favorite drink for the betterment of your health.

* exercise wouldn't take up any time during the day... as in, time would stop whenever you wanted to exercise so you could work out as much as you want, feel really really amazing, and not worry about all the other things you have to do during the day.  tag back into life? oh it's still only 7am!

* when people look at me they will automatically know my real age and stop treating me like a teenager {i know you all think i will love this someday, but so far this has only caused me to be treated very poorly by the world.  it's overwhelmingly patronizing.  i am, in fact, almost 30!}.

* an elderly billionaire {or millionaire, i'm not picky} will choose a social security number at random to leave all of his/her fortune to, which will just so happen to be MY social security number {or the mister's, again, i'm not picky}.

* scientists will discover all phones are detrimental to our health and banned forever {have i mentioned how much i HATE talking on the phone? *shudder*}.

* wait i changed my mind about people automatically knowing my real age.  instead, whenever a person thinks i'm younger than i am, they will have to give me money, and the younger they think i am, the more money they will be required by law to give me {there's got to be a way to pay off my school loans other than working 60 hours a week for the next 40 years, there's just got to!}.

{thanks for the tip mcsweeney's, guess i better go apply to the circus}

what are you wishing for this tuesday?

  1. You don't understand what's going on: I am sitting in a public setting, grinning ear to ear and trying not to laugh. This post is so incredibly YOU and it just makes me giddy inside. Haha! I love how you "aren't picky." Awesome.

  2. HAHA I LOVE THIS!

I think chai tea does have magical powers- it takes perfect hot and cold and they facial masks out of the stuff. what can't chai tea can't do.

  4. I am wishing to not wake up in the middle of the night in a panic that I forgot to move the car for alternate side parking... and also, I would love to be about 10 years younger but still have a teenager and a 6 year old. That would be pretty cool, because I would be that much "cooler" of a Mom to be so young. I am def going to hit the chai latte's today! Thanks for a great read!

  6. Ooh- I like that exercise one! Plenty of time in the day for working out? That would be delightful!

Really, though, I just love your list- reading it was a perfect start to my Tuesday!

  10. Oh the magical powers of chai tea lattes...

I love this post. It has healing powers in itself I think. It's got me grinning first thing on a dreary Tuesday morning, post-holiday. That's how good it is!

    xo

  11. Haha, this is a brilliant post! And you're just so funny :)
I totally agree about the exercise one. I think I'm also wishing that we could all just get along (and by "we", I mean everyone in the world). Wouldn't life be lovely then? :)

  12. Can we also discover that cheese and chocolate have the same healing powers as chai lattes? I'd be in heaven.

    Great post Kim!

  13. I am crossing my fingers that all these things happen! Chai lattes = good for you!? Yes, please! And I don't mind banning phones either!

  14. yes! I want all of this :)

Plus I want bread products & cheese to have the same healthy benefits as if I ate raw vegetables.

I want to have a big house on a lake like where ryan reynolds's fam lives in The Proposal, but without all the pesky cooking/cleaning/time consumingness that comes along with it.

I want to be able to eat cupcakes & desserts all day but not feel sick, or gain weight, but to feel as awesome as when I take the 1st bite!

  15. Laughing out loud! What if chai lattes included the benefits of exercising so all you had to do was drink 12. This was just brilliant.

A girl can dream...and it makes other smile. :)

  16. So, when you count my graduating with a physics degree from college I am totally a scientist and using my deductive reasoning. Indians have been drinking chai forever and they seem to be doing pretty well. Go forth and drink tea.

disclaimer: this is based on the science that chai is yummy. clearly.

  17. Amen to your exercise wish!! Going to the gym is such an effort - it's only fair if it comes with a Zack Morris-style time out :-)

  18. I'm so with you on the exercise! I hate how it just cuts into my day. I'm also wishing for a really fantastic job that pays me a lot and lets me travel tons and lets me help make people make positive changes to their lives. Something really inspirational. I'm working on that one...

  19. Hahahaha I love it! I agree, people who assume you're younger should have to give you money. It sounds incredibly frustrating! If we're wishing things about exercise though, I wish drinking chai lattes just made me fit so that I would never have to exercise ever!

  20. i love chai teas! and wouldn't mind if they push a mandatory drink of it hahah. aha! maybe it's your secret that's why you keep that youthful glow of yours? :)

  21. hahaha, this is such a great list! I absolutely love chai lattes and, sandly, they are not easy to find here in Costa Rica but two weekends ago on a visit to a volcano, in a little coffee house there it was: Chai Latte on the menu! it was so incredibly delicious :)

  23. haha this is such a funny, great post! if i could wish for one thing right now im going to agree with you on exercise not taking up time of the day. i just ran on the treadmill today and it's hard planning the day and working exercise into the itinerary. takes a lot of effort!

  24. this post makes me smile. im also not a huge fan of the phone! i prefer texting for some reason.
i love the little picture as well with the circus quote so sweet.
i think that dark chocolate should be mandatory, glitter should cover everyones houses and cupcakes would be healthy :) x

  25. Oh Kim these are awesome. I am with you on all of them, except I'll switch chai lattes for like...bacon.
And your last point is inspired! We would be rich!!

  26. how about politicians disappear to neverland... that would be a great thing!

  27. screech would turn out to be super handsome and kelly kapowski would be overweight. have I missed anything?

  28. oh doll, this post has me smiling because it's so true. Can we amend the billionaire's pick to include a handful of people? And the exercise thing...story of my life! Why would I want to get all hot and sweaty and then have to shower again when I could finish the really good chapter in my book or bake a chocolate cake!

  29. People always think I'm much younger than I actually am, but I don't mind... because I know that will one day end. Enjoy it while you can!

I like your idea about the chai lattes :)

    (LOVE this post)

  30. You know I can relate to much of this! But true to sibling rivalry, I have to fight you for the random social-security-money-leaving-billionaire....I was here first, he is mine mine mine!!! LOL! But as for looking younger than your age, I PROMISE you will begin to love that someday! It took me until 30 b4 I was totally ok with it! Now I just eat it up! And yes, I still get asked if I am my kid's big sister!!! LOL! Well, except when I am with Ryan...then I've had people ask if he was my boyfriend! Ha ha! You should have seen him cringe! What horror for him that anyone would even ponder the idea! I love you! And I love your uplifting, giggle inducing blogs! Thank you for your positive attitude....I sooo need to take a lesson from you and let it rub off on me!
